Welcome. It’s been a transformative year here at One Square World. Thank you for being a part of it. We’ve delved in deep to anti-racism, place-sourced potential and evolutionary leadership. We’ve continued to make progress in our core programs in Egleston and Providence, while responding to what our community experts (AKA community members) tell us we need to advance sustainability and justice in our communities.

Egleston.
In Egleston, we wrapped up phase one of One Egleston Square, with the support of Enterprise Community Partners. Over the past year, we met with local residents and non-profit organizations to identify a path forward for Egleston as a community that centers around justice and sustainability. The community’s vision will inform phase two of the program: providing space where community members can come together to heal, build, teach, and learn right in Egleston Square. | Ideas from the Egleston Latinx community about future centering of the Latinx community in Egleston. |
Together, we have envisioned a community-owned hub where community members can practice and build a culture rooted in uplifting and uncovering our rich ancestral cultures, and visioning and practicing a future of justice and well-being.
Providence.
In Providence, we are proud to announce that we have received funding to continue Year 2 of Equity in Sustainability (EiS). Alongside our partners, the Environmental Justice League of Rhode Island and the Office of Sustainability at the City of Providence, we supported the Racial and Environmental Justice Committee in crafting principles and values that reflect the priorities of frontline communities of color in Providence. Going forward, we will be working with our partners and the REJ Committee to transform these principles into action.
Boston.
In Boston, we kicked off a new initiative inspired by our work in Providence. Undoing Racism Boston (UR Boston) employs strategies developed by the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond to identify, confront, and deconstruct the institutional and cultural factors that keep racism alive. Designed as a series of workshop-based interventions, we held our UR Boston Training in March 2017. Because of popular demand, we will be offering more trainings in the coming months.

What You Can Do.
It’s simple. We can’t do the work without your support. | | Practice justice and well-being everyday! We need each and every one of us to be evolving. Here’s what we’re reading, who we’re learning from, and what we’re writing this week to stay healthy and awake. |
