One Square World is excited to announce that we have been awarded a $5000 Collaborative Action Grant from Enterprise Community Partners in support of our Egleston Square programming. 1SW was chosen as one of 15 grant recipients from this year’s pool of 110 applicants nation-wide.
The funding from this grant will support One Egleston Square, a six-month program during which 1SW will facilitate asset mapping, community discovery and leadership development workshops within Egleston Square with a focus on developing a shared vision of civic improvement for the neighborhood that benefits everyone. Our workshops will coincide with a request for proposals from local artists to create pieces based on their own experiences in Egleston. One Egleston Square culminates in a curated exhibition displaying artists’ creations alongside community development project proposals generated by participants in our leadership development workshops.

The Collaborative Action Grant program works to promote “creative [processes] that feature honest conversations with people about the issues in their communities… collaborative actions promote community ownership, while fostering a sense of place that is participatory and culturally relevant.” One Square World is proud to represent this mission in Boston.
We'd like to thank Enterprise Community Partners for making it possible to continue our work for a sustainable and just Egleston.
